As a parent of 2, I was looking for a product that would offer ballistic protection for my children while they were at school. I found nothing that would counter all prevalent threats, was affordable, and not overly heavy. So  I invented LIFE BINDER. Life Binder is a Kevlar pocket that by itself protection against every size handgun that has been used in a school shooting, and weighs less than 1 pound. This is perfect for my Kindergartner to carry. The pocket then allows the insertion of a plate of Armor Grade Steel that weighs about 5 lbs and will protect against every rifle caliber that has been used in these situations including .223 FMJ and 7.62 x 39 mm FMJ which are the most commonly used in mass shooting in the last 30 years.  Steel or other super hard composite material is a must for Rifle protection, as Kevlar alone will not stop it.
